Happy Sunday!!! After a very long week at work, I arrived home to see my Stampin' Up boxes just waiting for me. Ahhh!!! Fun in a box...and I was so excited, I made this card yesterday. Hope you like it. Here are the supplies I used:
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Basic Black. Ink: Rich Razzleberry,VersaMark, Blender Pen. Embossing Powder: Clear (forgot to put it in the picture-duh) and Silver. Stamps:Elegant Elements. Adhesive: Stampin' Dimensionals and Snail
Here's a tip....The little bird is popped up with a dimensional dot, and it is pretty fragile. So I smooshed it in some versamark and clear embossed the pretty little thing to give it some stability. Which also makes it very shiny...NICE. Next time I am going to emboss it before I cut it out. That little birdie was flying all over the place while I was heat setting it. Too bad I haven't started making videos yet...I must have looked hilarious chasing that little paper bird around the table with the heat tool.

Hey, Look what I got today....for FREE!!! I went to the Post Office after work to mail some cards and because they were thick, I asked the nice lady behind the counter to see if extra postage was needed. Honestly, is there anything worse than sending something "postage due"?
"OH HI! Thanks for the beautiful card ...did you know it needed extra postage...I owed $0.17 when it came" (insert big ol' head slap!). I know it sounds like I need better friends, but it's usually family providing comments like this...Whatcha gonna do??
Oh! I digress...so back to my story...Ms. Post Office slips the envelopes through a little do-hicky (see photo) and says, "Oh yes, you have something in here too thick."
I say "It's just a bow, it is squishable".
And she says, " Well, is it a hand-made card?"
"Yes"
"Well, you may want to avoid bows and put something on there a little less bulky", she says
I think, but don't say "Are you crazy lady!!!! NO BOW?!?!, that is like telling Mariah Carey not to sing so many high notes"
But instead, I politely say, "Oh, well...um, where can I get one of those things you just used to check my cards?"
She says, "Sure, let me go see if I have an extra in the back."
So she returns with this little treasure (see photo), and gives it to me for FREE. Did I mention I got it for FREE yet?!?! Obviously she isn't a scrapper, but she was very kind and she is my new best friend, because she gave me that do-hicky for FREE! I'm thinkin' she SHOULD be a scrapper with a "can-do" attitude like that!

Hi there! If everything goes according to plan, I should have a few new readers this week?!? If you made it here, Welcome!!! if not....um, well I guess we really won't know the difference, will we now HHMM!?
Well I had a great time scrappin' with my buddies on Friday night and Saturday. I just love those girls...more fun than I deserve...speaking of which, I don't deserve my husband either, he was good enough to take Meagan shopping on Saturday while I was whoopin' it up with my friends. Trust me, this is no task for the faint-hearted! They did a good job too...lots of cute stuff for Ms. Meagan. Now, I just hope she wears it! She has a little problem giving up the big t-shirt and shorts "summer look". I just ordered Mr. Bert (aka "Three") some nice school clothes from Lands End. I saved about 20 bucks because I used a retailmenot coupon code! I just love that site. Here's a link: http://www.retailmenot.com/(cool, it worked...I'm so techie). Now that they both have long sleeve shirts, it will warm up for sure.
Let's see...what is to look forward to this week? Oh, yes, my big ol' Stampin' up starter kit will be coming this week. Yippie! Meagan starts Girl Scouts again on Thursday, and this weekend is Cheese Days! Gotta love that! Oh, our friend Haley Deans is getting married Saturday, and Meagan & I will be helping out a bit on Saturday evening. Best wishes Haley and Kyle!!!
That's the scoop! Have a great week everyone!!!

I am still having trouble with being able to post this. It needs so many accounts that I don't have.

So, this weekend, we actually had company (mwahahaha)! Mom, Dad, Rusty, Megan, Lauren, Raechel, and Jake were all here for two days. I love having my family come over. We don't get to see them nearly enough. The only problem is, when we get together, we have 5 very loud children (2 of which I am used to) running around...crazy! But good crazy. It seems so quiet now, and we are enjoying our day off. I should be putting the house back together, but I am not. Just enjoying the few hours we have left before going back to work. Gotta support my stamping habit somehow. Speaking of which, big week coming up...I am going to send in my Stampin' Up papers this week. WooHoo! I can't wait to start my own little business! Then on Saturday, I am going to go scrappin with my buddies. Fun Fun! Documenting the family history in pretty paper....ahhh...it just doesn't get much better....oh well, yes, of course, living and creating those memories with my family IS the best part.

I got my Stampin' Up catalog a couple of weeks ago and wowie wow, do I LOVE IT! I can't wait to start. I need to figure out how to start posting pictures and videos to my blog. Quite honestly, half my readers tell me my blog is boring. I know, hard to believe that I said that to myself, but at least I am honest. The other half of my readers are quite encouraging...Thanks Bert!!! Well, that's all for now. I am going to insert some pictures of cards I made....I hope. These aren't Stamin' Up products. Most of the paper and stamps came from Close to My Heart.
This one is called "Hello Card" (I know...so clever)
This one is called "Sunny Side Up" because it reminds me of a fried egg.
Just had to stick this one in to....the Bert's on a bike ride. Meagan's up there somewhere too...she's just too fast for me!

Well friends, another week gone by. Not much new to report. The summer is flying by, the kids will start school soon.
Last Sunday, my friends, Susie and Tracy, and I took the kids up to an open house in Mt Horeb. The open house was for a new scrapbook retreat and it was amazing! I can't wait to go. Susie booked the house for March 10 - 13, 2011. Thanks Susie!!!! Three weeks ago, Susie, Brenda, Pam and I went to a scrapbook retreat in the Dells and had a blast. Unfortunately, poor Meagan and B2 were sick that weekend, so the family had no fun at all. I felt terrible for them. But I digress...this new house in Mt. Horeb was designed by the same person who owns the Dells retreat. She designed it specifically for crafters wanting to get away for a long weekend of relaxation and fun. You can find it on facebook by searching for Magnolia Ridge. Check it out!!!!
Lets see...what is coming up this week. I should receive my Stamin' Up catalog from the talented Dawn Griffith. If you haven't seen her blog, you must! She is amazing. Her blog is called Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. (Google it and it will pop right up). I am hoping to get some cards made, and finish my vacation digital scrapbook. Other than that...just the usual. Have a great week everyone!!!

Well, now I've gone and done it... I decided today was the day to start my blog! The big plan is to post tidbits about things going on, but more importantly to share my love of paper crafts! I do LOVE making cards, scrapbooking, and designing new ideas. Most of my posts will involve projects that have come to me as inspiration from others, and I will do my best to offer links to their amazing blogs. I hope you will be patient with me as I plunk my way through the blogging world!
